Lets Go Flying!!
A lot has transpired since I first began flying in the summer of 2000, I have acquired almost 250 hours since I got my Private license in 2001, and am continuing school, working on my instrument and commercial ratings. I hope to be a flight instructor soon, and maybe do some ag work or banner towing in the future. Right now I am just concentrating on obtaining the other ratings, and becoming a sharp pilot with good skills and judgment. My school is at Douglas Aviation in Olive Branch, Ms. I have done a little training at General Dewitt Spain Airport in Downtown Memphis as well. Pictured below is the Extra 300l that a friend of mine took me up in a few years ago for banks and yanks. You can click on it for a bigger picture.
Here I am in beautiful, sunny Panama City Beach, Fla next to a Cessna Floatplane that I took a ride up and down the coast in. This was a great little vacation this summer, and I took some great aerial photos on this ride. I may do a little banner towing out here in a summer or two when I finish training. Bottom: Here I am on my first day flying. I told myself one day during a very boring Nursing School clinical that I was going to take up Aviation as soon as I got out of Nursing school. I wanted to do something fun for a change. I've spent a pretty penny here, but I am done, and hope to move up to an Instrument Rating soon. The pictured aircraft is a 1998 Cessna 172, that is fuel injected, has leather seats, GPS (also known as dummy navigation), and lots of goodies. It is truly a pleasure to fly. I hope to own an airplane as nice as this soon, and I see lots of work/saving money in the future. In the meantime I can afford to rent this a few times a month (more if I catch some Overtime).
